FAQ

What happens in a singing lesson?

During the singing lesson we will first start with a voice warm-up so your voice is working at it's best. Next we move on to vocal exercises, this allows us to focus on areas of your voice for improvement such as range or breathing. Lastly, we can then apply what we've worked on within the lesson on a song of your choice.

Do I need any previous singing experience?

No previous singing experience is needed! I welcome complete beginners and have worked with students who lacked confidence in their voice and helped them develop their skills, technique, and confidence as singers.

Where do your singing lessons take place?
I give singing lessons based in Poole, Dorset. I also offer online lessons.

How do you take payment?

Payment is taken before or during each lesson by card, cash or bank transfer. Card payments are processed securely via a card machine.

Do you offer songwriting lessons?

Yes! I teach how to write vocal melodies, chord progressions, lyrics, development of emotional tone and creative direction of a song. Songwriting lessons can help you turn your ideas into songs while developing your own unique style as an artist.

Do you offer block lessons?

Yes, I offer blocks of 5 or 10 lessons for both singing or songwriting. Click here to go to prices.

What happens if I’m ill or unable to attend my lesson?

I kindly ask that students do not attend if they are unwell or experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness. Singing while ill is generally not recommended, as it can place additional strain on the voice.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, and I'd be happy to arrange an alternative lesson date where possible.
